About | Virginia War Museum was founded in 1923 by American Legion Post #25 (The Braxton/Perkins Post) as the American Legion Memorial Museum. The museum displays exceptional collections of personal artifacts, vehicles, weapons, uniforms, posters, and much more, which trace the U.S. military's development from 1775 through the present. You can see a section of the Berlin Wall and a portion of the outer wall from Dachau Concentration Camp. Visitors can participate in visual arts, multi-media, hands-on learning, and critical thinking activities. The shop is available here for unique gifts in the Duffle Bag gift shop. Special events and evening programs are held year-round. Parking is free here. |
