| About | Ybor Square is a historic site in Tampa, Fl. Ybor Square was established in 1972 and is the largest and most influential cigar factory in Florida, owned by the Church of Workers of Scientology, and funds community meetings, tutoring, and educational seminars. The three-story structure was the first brick cigar factory in Tampa and the largest cigar factory globally at the time. Over the next few decades, the buildings were vacant, then were used as gallery and studio space for artists, then converted into a festival marketplace called Ybor Square. It was remarkable in that it brought industrialization to a predominantly agricultural area. |
