| About | Wisconsin State Capitol is the tallest building in Madison. This distinction has been preserved by legislation prohibiting buildings taller than the dome's columns. The Capitol houses both chambers of the Wisconsin legislature and the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and the Governor's Office. Built with over 40 different marble styles, beautiful art throughout, and interiors illuminated by natural light. It has impressive collections and colossal marble columns. The exclusive textures of hand-carved furniture and beautiful glass mosaics are presented in the building. The building is given regular free tours, except on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas. On Saturday morning, tourists can enjoy the concert in Capital square and enjoy the farmer's market around the capital. |
