About	Historic Union Cemetery was founded in 1872 when Colonel Thomas Baker was in the middle of the 19th century. It is owned and managed by the Union Cemetery Association, a non-profit organization. Nearly a century and a half have been a resting place for thousands of pioneers and immigrants, veterans from the Civil War, influential local families, cowboys, farmers, banks, and builders of the history of their city. In 2012 added "Historical" to the name in recognition of the history and heritage preserved here. It provides complimentary self-guided walking tours and visits some of the pioneer's and founders' graves.
