| About | Dan Ryan Woods is a well-established hiking trail in Chicago. The park is a 257-acre forest preserve with playfields, a famous sledding hill, and a paved multi-use trail. It is a place where you can find an extensive array of native plants, animals, and migratory birds. The large hill is perfect for a free place to work out. The park has multiple parking lots right off the woods. The primary attraction of the spot is Cliff stairs. The woods have Oak and hickory trees which provide habitat for great horned owls and birds such as the eastern phoebe at the edges. The wood is the last remaining Blue Island, one of the highest points in Chicago. Everyone visiting the woods can explore nature and spend time with their families. |
