About | Henry C. Palmisano Nature Park is a well-renowned hiking trail with a 26,60-acre site in the center of the Bridgeport neighborhood, on the southwest side of Chicago. It is a vibrant park with a fishing pond, interpretive wetlands, protected quarry walls, a sporting field, a basketball court, and a hill offering spectacular views. The park has more than 1.7 miles of tracks, including reclaimed boardwalks. The trails will bring you various experiences along the quarry wall, across the terracing wetlands, and down to the pond. The park has panoramic overviews of the lake and wetlands, and stunning views of the city from the mound can be seen. You can also enjoy fishing in a pond that holds old quarry walls and walking through a wetland area that flows into the pond to watch for animals and other birds attracted by the vast array of plants on the site. |
