About	St. Joseph Cathedral Parish is the Mother Church for the Diocese of Columbus, at the service of Bishop and the world, as a light for all liturgical dimensions, as a light for all liturgical dimensions. The church was established in 1866. The church has generously contributed nearly $37,000 to father Fitzgerald for two-hundred-fifty people to support him with his new project. St. Joseph Cathedral Parish building was Gothic in design, and the stone came from quarries in Licking and Fairfield Counties. The cathedral's interior walls have only the sandstone finish, while the groined arches of the ceiling are painted plaster to match the appearance of the sandstone walls. There is an elevator located at the first door on the west side of the cathedral for anyone who might have difficulty climbing the steps at the front entrance. St. Joseph Cathedral Parish stone had a claimed ashlar finish, with a yellow stone wall looking like the end product. Here, parking facilities are also available.
