About	Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre is the place to discover the mysteries of the universe at the world-famous Jodrell Bank. The centre became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From 1966 to 1999, it has hosted several radio telescopes. It was founded in 1945 by a radio astronomer to study cosmic rays after his work on radar during World War II. Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre has Lovell Telescope, the third-largest steerable radio telescope in the world and three other working telescopes. The visitor centre is open for regular activities and organises public outreach activities, such as public lectures, star parties and "ask an astronomer" workshops.
