About | Black Country Living Museum is a 26-acre open-air museum. In 1960 the idea of opening the air museum was started. In 1985 the number of visitors to the museum had risen to 250,000 a year, and in 1990 305,000 people visited the museum. The Black Country Living Museum has continued to expand and develop since then. It comprises original shops, houses and workshops, all set in the canal-side village, brought to life by costumed characters. The staff in the museum will be friendly and helpful to the visitors. It also provides a variety of food from a chip shop, cafe, bakery and candy shop. Black Country Living Museum offers free admission for children age two and under. |
