About | West Kirby Museum is a famous museum that holds a collection of stones and other objects which tells the story of St. Bridget's Church and the surrounding village in the past 1000 years. Their collection contains artefacts uncovered on the site from Pre-Norman, Norman, Gothic times. The majority of the collection includes masonry and grave markers from around the time of the Norman Conquest. Their most notable discovery is the Hog-Back Stone which is a testament to the Viking's Christian presence in this location one thousand years ago. Fragments of stones discovered in the grounds have helped to date the five different periods of building. Management provides a history of West Kirby's Old Village and sheds light on life in Victorian schools. They have thousands of visitors every Saturday morning from 10 am to 1 pm during their opening hours. |
