AboutLongthorpe Tower is an ancient 14th-century three-storey tower in the village of Longthorpe, Peterborough, UK. Longthorpe Tower has one of Northern Europe's most extensive and significant collections of domestic wall paintings from the 14th century. The Tower has three floors, and the first floor was originally designed as an exact living space for Thorpe. The outstanding reputation comes from the stunning first-floor wall paintings. The building is more famous for its well-preserved set of medieval murals. It affords wheelchair access and friendly disabled parking. The Tower is more famous for its English medieval wall paintings, sketched out around 1330. The English Heritage community now owns Longthorpe Tower, and it is also a Grade I listed building. The Tower is a registered monument protected by law.
