About | Burghley House is one of the significant and historical landmarks located in Peterborough, UK. The palace was constructed and mostly planned between 1555 and 1587 by William Cecil, who was Queen Elizabeth Lord's High Treasurer. There are 35 large rooms on the ground and first floors in the central part of the house. The palace is one of England's greatest Elizabethan houses Capability Brown laid out the historic parkland. It includes the orangery cafe, gift shop, gardens and spectacular walks around Capability Brown's historic parkland. The house also features a serpentine park designed by Lancelot Brown and a gothic greenhouse and stables.
