About | Huntingtower Castle is a fifteen-century building in Scotland. Over a hundred years, the castle was called 'Ruthven Castle'. The Castle and lands were restored to the Ruthven family in 1586. Huntingtower Castle remained under the crown's control until 1643 when granted to the Tullibardine Murray family. At first, Huntingtower Castle was constructed as a gatehouse after then it was developed as a castle. The tower in the castle was designed in the seventeenth century; after some years size of windows was significantly increased, particularly in the Western Tower. Huntingtower Castle provides 16th-century paintings on the eastern tower's first floor, and the building's ceiling is entirely decorated. The castle can be viewed by the public and is also used as a place for wedding ceremonies. |
