About	Akkanna Madanna caves are a group of rock-cut Hindu cave temples in Vijayawada. Dated to mid-7th-century and dedicated to Shiva, they were excavated by the Eastern Chalukya dynasty. They consist of the upper and lower caves. At a distance of three km from Vijayawada Railway Station, Akkanna and Madanna Caves are situated at the foot of the Indrakeeladri Hill, on which the popular Kanaka Durga Temple is present. The caves are triple-celled with a pillared hall measuring 48 x 29 feet facing towards the East. Its devoid of any ornamental moulding or sculpture.
