About	Prakasam Barrage was initially known as The Krishna Anicut. It was built from 1852 to 1855 at Rs. 2 crores. It was constructed for irrigation and flood banks to protect the Krishna delta. It was India's first major irrigation project and was ultimately successful in its mission. Capt built Prakasam Barrage. Orr and designed by Sir Arthur Cotton. Prakasam Barrage has a lovely view of nature, and it has foods stalls nearby. The barrage's three canals pass through the town of Vijayawada, crossing it and giving it a Venetian look.
