| About | Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens is commonly known as Mysore Zoo. It was established in 1892. The zoo is resorted to recreating the natural habitat for the different species of animals. The zoo's mission is to link the visitors and animals through exemplary animal welfare and care, best educational and inspirational experiences, fostering public appreciation, support for wild animals, and conservation. Encouraging sound husbandry practices through competent animal and veterinary treatment and a robust animal management strategy ensures the animals' physical and psychological well-being in the care. Mysuru Zoo is most fortunate to continuously acquire some of the exotic species from Foreign Zoos with the Co-ordination of the Central Zoo Authority and other Government Departments. |
