| About | Mysore Palace is one of the prime historical attractions of Mysore, and it is a Royal Splendour of Mysore. The palace is home to the Wodyers, who ruled Mysuru for more than 500 years. The Maharaja Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV orchestrated the construction of the historical place. It was built in 1912 for the 24th Ruler of the Wodeyar Dynasty and counted amongst one of the country's biggest palaces. The palace's facade is a harmonious blend of Hindu, Muslim, Rajput, and Gothic styles, imparting a regal quality. The palace is best known for the vibrant Dussehra celebrations and light and sound show. Remember to check out the three temples outside the palace, dedicated to the Lords Shiva and Vishnu and an avatar of Vishnu. |
