About | Manitoba Legislative Building is the prominent meeting place of the Legislative Assembly of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Legislative Building was designed by the skilled English sculptor Frank Worthington Simon and Henry Boddington. Manitoba Legislative Building is the twelfth provincial heritage site of Manitoba. The historical building has a strong reputation for its Golden Boy stonework, a gold-covered bronze statue based on the contemporary style of the Roman god Mercury, or the Greek god Hermes, at the top of the cupola. The building has stunning architecture and a multitude of gorgeous sculptural and painted works to explore. The place is designed to replicate an ancient temple from 600 BC. Visitors even learn the stories of Winnipeg and explore the park surrounding the building and the gardens. You can visit the building's extensive collections and enjoy the architecture for free. |
