AboutMuseum of Tropical Queensland is a place to discover the natural and cultural heritage of North Queensland. The present museum was opened in 2000 on the site of an earlier, smaller structure. It focuses on research and analysis of the cultural and natural heritage of tropical Queensland. Its new and current displays discuss life in the tropics from ancient times to the modern period. It is home to 1000s of objects, specimens and artefacts that tell the changing story of Queensland. The Museum of Tropical Queensland includes hundreds of wonderful objects that have been recovered from the wreck and are on display. The collection present here is pure and applied science. Museum of Tropical Queensland offers free entry for locals day occurs on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, outside public and school holidays.
