The Alley, one of the last remaining sections of the rich history of Oakland piano bars, was created in 1933. Its dim lighting and walls decorated with business cards and antique clothes offer a comfortable environment to eat, drink, sing and meet new people or old friends. The Piano bar is accessible for singers from 9:00 pm to close. From 1959 to 2017, Alley's resident piano player was the fabled Rod Dibble, whose 4000+ song collection was created from the Great American Songbook, containing the Tin Pan Alley tunes and Broadway hits have become jazz standards.
