| About | Northwest Recreation Center is the first municipal building built explicitly for recreational programming in Cedar Rapids. Northwest Recreation Center is located at 1340 11th Street NW, opening in 2016. It replaced the Time Check Recreation Center served as a neighborhood center for the northwest area, and offered Parks and Recreation Department programs for the entire city. The new building is 16,000 square feet and includes a full-size gymnasium, activity room, game room, and community room with dividers. The gym can be divided and used as three separate volleyball courts or two small basketball half courts. Their game room provides hours of entertainment with billiards, foosball, and table tennis. Tables and chairs are provided, and a small catering kitchen is available for use. Your initial pass card is free. Come relax and read a book in their lounge area. |
