About | Houston Museum of Natural Science was established in 1909. It is an excellent science museum with a magnificent array of geological specimens, a fossil skeleton, models of space stations, and a planetarium. The museum's principal collections date from 1914 until 1930. There are 120 specimens in the Houston Museum of Natural Science, comprising 42 bird species and 28 mammals. You may also visit the IMAX cinema and a six-story butterfly center, where these lovely creatures rest quietly on their outstretched wings. It is the ideal location to visit the Natural Science Houston Museum, one of the most famous museums in the country. It attracts more than one million visitors per year.
