The museum honors the 1960 Greensboro sit-ins' peaceful protests, which served as momentum in the civil rights movement. The American civil rights movement's history with a guided tour of the International Civil Rights Center and the permanent display at the museum. The museum has an exhibition area of 30,000 square feet. They afford free admission for children under 6. The front desk host was accommodating and passionate about the stories in the museum.
