About | Kimbell Art Museum was established on October 4, 1972. The museum's 1972 building was designed by American architect Louis I. Kahn who is generally regarded as one of the modern era's most notable architectural achievements. It hosts paintings, rotating art exhibitions, educational programs, and a vast library for study. The Kimbell collections range from the past to the 20th century, including European masterpieces by artists such as Caravaggio, Picasso, Matisse, Monet, Velázquez, Poussin, Fra Angelico & Michelangelo.
