About	Birmingham Zoo is a home for various wildlife, from tigers, zebras, rhinos, giraffes, sea lions, orangutans, zebras, jaguars, Asian elephants, and endangered species from six continents. It is Alabama's must-see attraction, with approximately 950 animals of 230 species calling it home. The mission of this zoo is "Inspiring concern for the survival of the natural environment." It is the largest zoo in the city of Alabama. Birmingham Zoo is a private, non-profit entity accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The entry is half the cost every Tuesday. Birmingham Zoo welcomed more than 470,000 tourists, making it the second biggest tourist destination in Alabama. Birmingham Zoo affords free admission for infants.
