| About | Dr. Andrew M. Blumenfeld completed his MD from the Univ. of the Witwatersrand Faculty of Medicine in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he obtained his internships and residencies. After that, he completed his fellowships at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is the director of the 'Headache Center of Southern California.' Dr. Andrew M. Blumenfeld is a member of the American Headache Society and the American Academy of Neurology. He is also the founding chair for the Interventional Procedures for Headache section for the 'American Headache Society.' Dr. Andrew has published extensively and has more than 70 peer-reviewed publications relating to his active research in headaches. He has been the national lead investigator for several research studies showing that Botulinum toxin type A, sold under the brand name Botox, is an efficient preventative therapy for headaches in chronic migraine sufferers. |
