About	Delia'sDelia's Specializing in Tamales began nearly 30 years ago from tiny openings. Delia started preparing tamales with one of her sisters, and they originated with five pounds of masa and used all of their proceeds to maintain making tamales. Each morning, they set out with their freshly-made tamales in coolers, going door-to-door and business-to-business, trading them to the delight of customers. Delia started her first location in South McAllen in 1998. Their all six neighborhoods freshly steam tamales throughout the day for everyone's enjoyment. The word "tamale" is derived from the Aztec word "tamales," which indicates "wrapped food." Their team earns credit for making good tamales loved and savored by all.
