About | Pythian Castle is a Romanesque-style building. Pythian Castle was founded in 1890 by the fraternal group Knights of Pythias. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The Castle boasts an exterior of contoured sandstone, a conical roof, window arches, and a tower. Outside, the Knights and businesses use an auditorium, ballroom, and more than 30,000 square feet of space. It was sold to a developer in the downtown area who also had enough money to maintain the roof of the 126-year-old structure. It provides one of the tribunal's best views. |
