AboutOld Point Loma Lighthouse has been guarding the entrance to San Diego Bay for 36 years. It is sometimes erroneously called the "Old Spanish Lighthouse." The lighthouse is about 422 feet above sea level and the ocean, and the lighthouse act as both a portlight and a beacon on the coast. The National Park Service rehabilitated the forest to its former condition in the 1880s. You can see the light shining as it did more than 100 years ago. Old Point Loma is the perfect place to get a picnic and enjoy the city's spectacular view.
