About | Pardee Home is one of California's architectural and historical gems. The home was built in 1868 and is permanently populated by three generations of the same Pardee family. They managed to preserve the house efficiently through generous contributions, memberships, lectures, teas, ghost inquiries, and other special events. The Pardee Home, with its carriage house and water tower, is the centerpiece of Oakland's Preservation Park Historic District, within walking distance of historical landmarks such as Old Oakland, City Hall, and Preservation Park. It has unique artifacts and interiors from around the world. The collections contain more than 70,000 items. It presents a botanical exhibit by artist Anne Kasdin and a chance to see vintage posters from the collection. Its extraordinary historical significance is the home of one of the most prominent families in East Bay. |
