AboutBig Four Bridge is a six-span former railroad truss bridge that crosses the Ohio River. The bridge was built in 1895 and decommissioned in the 1960s as a railroad bridge. The bridge connects 4 locations Louisville, Kentucky, and Jeffersonville, Indiana. People see the parking area as they come across the large four pedestrian/bike bridge into the historic center of Jeffersonville. In February 2013, the bridge opened to the public, and it receives more than 1.5 million visitors a year. It has plenty of green space, a pavilion, and a playground. It is intended to allow people to enjoy daily leisure and special events.
