| About | 'Rancho Los Alamitos' has a continuous historical past of over 1500 years and represents many people. It originally included much of present-day eastern Long Beach, Los Alamitos and Rossmoor, and most of Seal Beach, Cypress, Stanton, and Garden Grove. It is 7.5 acres, a rare vestige of the original Los Coyotes 300,000-acre land concession granted to Manuel Nieto in 1790. The historic site is part of a significant Spanish land grant in 1784 and is now a museum with six agricultural houses. It contains a permanent exhibition, movie, and related program facilities that link audiences of the 21st century with California's compelling story. Rancho Los Cerritos offers free programs for cultural history which complement the curriculum for state social studies. It affords free entry and parking. |
