About | The Living Arts & Science Center is an art and education center house formerly known as George B. (Blackburn) Kinkead House, located in Lexington, Kentucky. Major Thomas Lewinski designed the building; he is a British-born architect, engineer, and teacher of foreign languages. It is a Greek revival style construction, which was sympathetically enlarged during the Civil War period, with Italianate features. In 1981, the Kinkead family donated the building to the Center, and the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As a nonprofit organization, the Center relies on generous contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and public agencies to support its many educational programs. They have lots of activities, camps, upcoming events, and virtual fun for you to check out. |
