About'Indiana Historical Society' is one of the United States' oldest and most extensive historical societies and describes itself as "Indiana's Storyteller". It has over 70,000 online digital images representing 61 collections, 3,500 sheet music pieces, 3,300 items, and 1,7 million photos in 615 digital collections. The building of 165,000 square feet features a 300-seat theatre, the William H. Smith Memorial Library, a vault to hold the precious collections of IHS. It provides programs for young people, adults, and their families. It is an award-winning collection with millions of items from the past of Indiana. A field trip is available.
