About | The History Center is home to the Allen County-Fort Wayne Historical Society, including its collections and museum. The society had few assets and contained some historical relics conserved by the Mary Penrose Wayne Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. They maintain a collection of more than 32,000 artifacts, photographs, and documents representing the history of Fort Wayne and Allen County. Its mission is to serve present and future generations by accumulating, preserving and sharing artifacts, documents, and images representing the people, places, and events that define Fort Wayne and Allen County's history. The Historical Society will be the leader in presenting the history, traditions, customs, and heritage of Fort Wayne and Allen County to the community through creative and innovative techniques and technology. |
