About	Cravens House is the fiercest fighting during the Battle of Lookout Mountain took residence in the vicinity of the house. This historical mountain home & Civil War battle site features summer tours & nearby hiking trails. The historic home was the spot of one of the most intense battles of civil war. The original home was two levels, the floor below or "underground" and the floor below in an 'L'-shape. The port on the Tennessee River was significant to local cotton farmers, who would transport their yields to the city and ship it through the waterway to Memphis. There is a free parking lot available at the Cravens House on Lookout Mountain.
