About'Grand Army Of The Republic Memorial Hall' is a memorial for civil war veterans in Aurora. The octagonally shaped structure was built with locally quarried limestone. The place was created as a monument to Aurora's Civil War veterans and a shrine to their fallen comrades. The Memorial Hall also served as a veteran's meeting hall and Aurora's first free public library.
