About	Hunter Creek Trail is one of the most scenic and exciting locations in nature. The trail meanders along desert slopes for about two-thirds of its length before entering a particularly beautiful, shaded pine-fir forest and ending at a waterfall of twenty-five feet. The waterfall flows throughout the year and is complimented throughout the summer by the alder and willow greens and natural ice sculptures in the winter. Hunter Creek Trail provides adequate parking, a limited number of picnic tables, and facilities for restrooms. It starts at the southwestern edge of the parking area behind the metal gate. The trail crosses about 0.5 miles beyond the side of the wilderness. It has a hiking distance of 0.15 miles, and a brief climb of the trail passes the signed entrance to the Mount Rose Wilderness. The trail of Hunter Creek Trail is suitable for all ages and abilities. There is water available for dogs at the beginning of the trail and top of the trail.
