About	William B. Umstead State Park is one of the best hiking trails in Raleigh. The park is a simple 0.6-mile loop containing Oak Rock, an oak tree that has grown from a rock outcrop, and interpretive panels identifying the plants located along the trail. Trailheads cover both sides of the park. The three human-made lakes are accessible from Interstate 40 and US 70. There is a broad lake, with canoe and rowboat rentals, are available. The horseback trailing through the park. Around 13 miles of bridle trails pass through some of the park's most scenic and secluded areas. William B. Umstead State Park features picnic grounds and surrounded shelters with fireplaces that can be reserved. A tent campground is open during the summer months.
