About	Wilderness Park is a mostly-public protected area of 1,472 acres (596 ha). It is the largest park in the city and has an east side gravel parking lot, which is a great place to rest before hiking. Wildlife spots are accessible in the vicinity of clearings and benches along the trail and have small beaches and fishing holes. Park Trail provides a distinct environment with plenty of natural wildlife. Wilderness Park features an extensive network of dirt walking trails, single-track biking, and horse trails. Signs along the trails denote each trail type. The 6.5-mile Jamaica North Trail in broken limestone is mainly located within the park. The hiking trail has been listed as part of the National Recreation Trails Program. Wilderness Park has plenty of parking available in gravel lots, some picnic tables, and trash cans.
