| About | Star of the Sea Catholic Church was built in 1915. The Catholic Church celebrated Mass in an ecumenical chapel with 55 local families and many more frequent vacationers. The entire building was under 1800 square feet. Bishop Sullivan opened the new worship space during many celebrations on May 20, 1995. Star of the Sea Catholic Church includes offering a comfortable place to worship. Construction continued at an incredible pace while masses were daily and weekly. Through promoting and strengthening the assembly's song at parish liturgies, the church gives praise and thanksgiving to Christ. Star of the Sea Catholic Church has evolved out of that early mission chapel serving fifty-five members and 1200 families in a community of faith. |
