He first sees a pupil and makes an assessment of what are the priorities for that pupil. Through this assessment, Ron will know exactly what challenges & potential pitfalls the pupil is likely to come across and what opportunities for teaching points are likely to arise. He encourages pupils to think about their learning, and to a large extent, decide the directions that they take. Students are taught mainly by 'doing'. Of course, he will go through the necessary theory, but as soon as possible they will do questions, worksheets etc. When they encounter a problem, he always tries to elicit the answer from the student by asking a series of questions that lead to the solution. The centre also offers home visits or online lessons.
