| About | Prison & Police Museum is a museum of costumed reenactments, hands-on exhibits and police memorabilia in an 1800s prison. It is located in the housed in the former Ripon Liberty Prison. It is the place to explore the history of Yorkshire policing and the harsh realities of the Victorian prison. The museum holds an art installation by Faye Claridge. Visitors can explore the history of female prisoners through audio, textiles and photographs and also shares the stories of current and historic female prisoners. The artwork provides information about the human experience of justice processes with prison. Prison & Police Museum offers free admission for children age five and under. |
