AboutPontypridd Museum was founded in 1986 in the former Tabernacle Welsh Baptist Chapel. It tells the history of the transformed country, from a quiet village in the Valleys to a successful industrial city in the South Wales coalfield. It preserves objects, pictures and videos, works of art and documents that help to tell a story of the city and its people. It has a collection of over 16,000 objects, by which visitors can discover everything about the town. The displays present in the museum are related to the borders of the Pontypridd Town Council ward. The museum's management is looking to extend the collections on common culture and sport, the various backgrounds of the city's residents, and the people who have made a difference to the community's existence.
