About	The Harris Museum & Art Gallery is a Grade I-listed museum building in Preston. It provides exhibitions of modern art, a history display, a collection of fine art, glass, ceramics, and much more. It was founded by Edmund Harris in 1877. It still operates as local history and fine art museum. Since the 1850s, when community members started organizing fundraising activities, the concept of building a free public library and museum has been championed. The Harris Museum & Art Gallery holds over 1200 paintings and sculptures. Visitors can explore the collections of fine art, decorative art, costume, textiles, and history, including archaeology and local history displays.
