About | Bankfield Museum was founded in 1887. It is a grade II listed historic house museum. It explains the history of Halifax and Calderdale using its rich and varied collections. The exhibits at the Bankfield Museum represent local history, costumes, paintings, toys, military history, jewellery and textiles from all around the world. The Victorian mansion in the museum is the home of the local mill lord, philanthropist and MP, Colonel Edward.
