About | The Canterbury Roman Museum was established in 1961. The museum contains several excavated Roman Canterbury items, including the significant late Roman silver hoard known as the Canterbury Treasure, along with Roman town reconstructions. It also includes the restored Roman house with a kitchen and a Roman marketplace. The tunnel displayed in the museum gives the details of Romans occupation, and the painting tells the time view of the Romans. At the end of the guided tours, visitors can touch and handle the Roman artefacts. The Canterbury Roman Museum offers free admission for children age five and under. |
