About | M Shed is a museum with colourful exhibitions that detail the area's history and its people. The striking banana-shaped crane in the museum is the Fairbairn Steam, now Britain's oldest remaining display of its kind and a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Visitors can explore the beautiful videos and photos, listen to moving personal stories, discover rare and quirky objects and add Bristol memories through immersive exhibits. The most significant object of the collections is the last survivors of over 40 here in the City Docks during the 1950s. The cranes present here are built to load and unload ships in port as easily as possible. Visitors can explore how Bristol people have lived and worked over the centuries. M Shed museum offers free entry for visitors. |
