About	Clifford's Tower is one of the best, loved and iconic landmarks located in York. The monument is built with Magnesian Limestone, which is still a strong and admiring one. Clifford's Tower has an 11th-century timber tower on top of the earth mound. The Tower also served as a prison and a royal mint and the place where Henry VIII had the bodies of his enemies put on public display. It is famous for the stunning panoramic views over Old York from the top of Clifford's Tower. The monument was also designated as a world heritage site on 14 June 1954. It is the most significant part of York Castle, once the centre of government for the north of England. The Tower is 50 feet (15m) high and measures 200 feet (61m) in diameter. You can enjoy Clifford's Tower's view, built on a high conical mound overlooks the River Ouse. The Tower has a unique 360-degree view from the top, where you can see the entire York city.
