| About | Llantrisant Castle is one of the most important 13th-century castles of Glamorgan. It has been ruined for many centuries, perhaps ever since the early 1300s. When this portion of Glamorgan was under English control, it was greatly weakened by Llewellyn Bren during his rebellion against Edward II. There is only a portion of the tower, and some outer wall remains standing. The ruins are on a good elevation, commanding extensive views of the surrounding country. Parking is available nearby residential streets. They afford free entry. |
